Robert Worden

Robert Worden, 62, of Iowa City, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at his home. Funeral services were held April 27 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bob’s memory.

passed away Monday, April 29, 2013, at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa.
She was born in Mystic, Iowa, on Oct. 2, 1940, to Dallas F. and Geraldine Avanelle “Avie” (Kirk) Walker.
Sandra attended Moravia High School and graduated in 1958. Sandra was united on marriage on June 7, 1958, to John David Lewis who preceded her in death in December, 1960. To this union, one child was born, David Michael “Mike” Lewis of Seymour.

Pearl, our ditzy labradoodle, and I are in the doghouse lately.
She committed her sin several weeks ago while we were watching Lexi, a Jack Russell terrier that comes to visit from time to time. Lexi is over 100 years-old in human terms, and has been given only several months to live from a variety of doggie disorders she’s contracted over the past decade.
She keeps turning kibble into cobble, however, if you get my drift.

Is it a law now?

My dad taught me not to buy anything unless I have the money to pay for it, so I seldom use a credit card. Without it, I can get hardly anything online. Does that mean that I’m not entitled to them? Has some law been passed that requires me to have a credit card in order to maintain my rights as a citizen? There are several things that aren’t available to people who don’t have credit cards, such as tickets, rental cars, ordering flowers or making motel reservations over the telephone.

Due to a scheduling conflict for the May 7 Special Election regarding the County Justice Center issue, North Liberty 03 voters will vote at a temporary polling location on Election Day, at South Slope Communications Video Conferencing Center at 655 Liberty Way, North Liberty. This is the polling place for North Liberty 03 voters ONLY for this election.
The Johnson County Auditor’s Office mailed postcards to all the registered voters in the precinct, but

TIFFIN– It started as a comic strip in the 1930s, became a Broadway smash in the 1970s and 80s, and in April 2013, it hit the stage at Clear Creek Amana High School.
It’s “Annie,” a classic American Broadway smash chock-full of optimism, hope and catchy tunes that stick in your head for days.
Jenna Tackaberry donned the curly red wig for the title role in the CCA High School production, which ran April 4, through April 6, in the CCA Performing Arts Center. Sage Spiker took on the role of Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks, the hardened billionaire who opened his heart to the plucky orphan.

NORTH LIBERTY– The Rustic Iron Bar & Grill is off the beaten path, in every good way.

CCA girls’ track third at Pacha Relays

TIFFIN: Clear Creek Amana (CCA) put three events into the win column Thursday, April 25, at their home Pacha Relays. Kate Hergert, Chloe Keith, Bailey Mooney and Corrine Schwarting ran the 4x400-Meter Relay to victory in 4:19.79, besting their seedtime of 4:24.88. Mia Smith, Celine Fender, Megan Lukas and Amy Brant took the win in the 800-Meter Sprint Medley Relay in 1:55.19, which was 0.09 seconds better than their seedtime. Also, Natalie Brimeyer, Ashley Prusha, Fender and Lukas won the 4x100-Meter Shuttle Hurdle Relay in 1:09.35.


Clipper boys come in third at Pacha Relays

TIFFIN: The top-ranked 4x200-meter relay team, consisting of Clear Creek Amana’s Josh Martinac, Tanner Bandy, Kam Kahler and Jared Ganschow won yet again Thursday, April 25, as the Clippers hosted their annual Pacha Relays. The foursome got the job done on the eve of the Drake Relays in 1:32.03. Tyler Kasper, Bandy, Aaron Campbell and Cooper Seacrest-Seelman teamed up to win the shuttle hurdle relay in 1:04.22 while Bandy won the high jump by clearing an even 6-00.00 and Kahler won the long jump with his 19-03.00 effort.
