JoCo seeks private sector citizen for community interest group

JOHNSON COUNTY– The Johnson County Board of Supervisors announces one vacancy on the Johnson County Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management Committee.
One citizen is needed representing the Private Sector Including Community Interest Groups for a term ending June 30, 2014.
Responsibilities of this committee include attending monthly meetings (currently scheduled for 7 p.m. on the first Monday of the month) and advising the board of supervisors and the county engineer on how roadsides can be preserved, planted and maintained to be safe, visually interesting, and ecologically integrated.


19th Annual Radio Controlled Model Aircraft Air Show July 10

IOWA CITY– The 19th annual Iowa City Aerohawks Air Show will be held Sunday, July 10, from 1-4:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Aerohawks Flying Field adjacent to the Iowa City Landfill off Melrose Avenue. Follow the signs 2 1/2 miles west of West High School on Melrose Ave, Iowa City or two miles west of the Melrose Avenue interchange off Hwy 218.
