SOLON– The Lady Spartans ended the regular season on a high note.
Solon defeated Marion 42-33 Tuesday, Feb. 11, finishing 9-12 and winning three of its last four games.
“The Marion game was satisfying on many levels,” said head coach Tony Nicol. “We were without two starters– Ali Herdliska and Madi Shafer– due to injury and illness. Any time you can beat a team that beat you earlier in the year it is a great accomplishment, especially without two starters.”
The Lady Spartans out-scored Marion 13-5 in the second quarter to take the lead and then salted the game away late.

The Solon Public Library has a new display, “Hollywood and Vine,” dedicated to the Hardacre Theater in Tipton, and celebrating all things cinema– the movies, the stars, the festivals and awards, the sound tracks, and of course, the food.
The budget process is completed for the year and the library would like to extend a thank you to both the Johnson County Board of Supervisors and the Solon City Council for their annual contributions to our library. The city and the county each provide approximately half of our annual budget (based on the circulation of our patrons and where they live) and we are very fortunate to have their financial support.
Thanks to the Friends of the Library for another successful book sale
