Spartans fall to No. 8 Central DeWitt

Solon boys shut out Maquoketa, Williamsburg

SOLON– The Spartans ran into trouble against No. 8 Central DeWitt last week on the road.
Although Solon was in control for a good portion of the game, a late penalty in the box gave Central DeWitt’s Keegan Lass a free shot which he converted to break a 1-1 tie.
“We played well being short handed due to the conference track meet and against a good and ranked opponent,” said head coach Jeremy McMurrin of the 2-1 loss. “We worked hard to get the lead and deserved to get the win. Unfortunately we were unable to do that due to things we didn’t have any control over after we took the lead.”
