Hawkeye women back on track

The Iowa women played two games last week.
They got beat, 86-52, at Louisville and then bounced back with a solid 78-63 win over Colorado at Carver last Sunday.
The Louisville game it looked like the Hawkeyes were in slow motion for most of the game.
The Cardinals jumped out to a 14-4 lead, increased it to 46-23 at half and rolled to a 86-52 win.
The three statistics that stick out are Iowa was 1-17 from 3-point range and Louisville outscored Iowa 58-32 in the paint. Also the Hawks were outrebounded, 50-38.

Statement game

The Hawkeye men’s basketball team had two games last week, with a big 60-55 win at North Carolina.
The Hawks also beat Maryland-Baltimore County, 77-47, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena Saturday.
I have to admit I wasn’t too confident on the Hawkeyes’ chances at North Carolina because of the shooting problems of their guards.
I thought the big guys down low would hold their own, but if the guards were still in a slump, Iowa would have a tough time against the Tar Heels.
