IOWA CITY- Anthony Tucker has decided to leave the Hawkeyes after two years of an up-and-down career.
A great shooter on the court who made very bad decisions off.
If you believe in the "three strikes you're out" principle then Anthony had his three strikes. Two alcohol arrests and an academic suspension in just two years. Maybe it's time for him to move on and start over.
It's tough enough being a Division I athlete traveling, practicing, getting recognized all over campus and town but to keep bringing attention by bad decisions...
Could the coaches still rely on him?
What about his teammates?
At some schools, he would have been suspended for five or six games and allowed to come back. At others, he would have been dismissed after the second alcohol arrest.
I just hope he learns from this and grows up.
