Sharon Marie Bonnett Grimm

  Sharon Marie Bonnett Grimm (1945-2010) died after a year-long battle against endometrial cancer. Sharon is the mother of three children: Shawna (Grimm) Hansen of Revere, Mass., Dion Grimm of Solon and Daniel Grimm of Solon. Sharon was married to her high school sweetheart, Lewis Grimm, for 23 years. Sharon is the daughter of Ronald Bonnett, who served as Mayor of Newton in the early 1960s and died of Lou Gehrig's disease in 1968, and Bonnie (Tedrow) Bonnett, who raised seven children and passed away in 2006. Sharon is the sister of David Bonnett, who passed away from lung cancer in 2006, Janet Bonnett, who died at a young age, Sandy Bonnett, who died at childbirth, Mary Ann Bonnett of Ruthven, Randall Bonnett of Gladbrook and Gary Bonnett of Indianola and an aunt and great-aunt to their children and grandchildren. Sharon graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. She worked for Rockwell Collins, Bishop's, St. Luke's Hospital, operated her private cleaning company and in her last position, worked as a school bus driver for the Iowa City Public Schools.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 13, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery in Solon. Visitation was held prior to services at Brosh Chapel. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
