St. John Lutheran Church in Ely begins new addition

SOLON– To accommodate the incredible growth in population within the Ely community, St. John Lutheran Church is taking steps to create more space for worship, fellowship and classroom learning.

This addition helps us to provide the space.”

NL’s Christie offers group classes and private lessons

NORTH LIBERTY– To Charles Christie, owner of Tyme Photography, there is no wrong way to take a photograph. Instead, it’s about applying better techniques to the process. It is this philosophy that he is passing down to his students.
“The class is designed in a progression of steps,” explained Christie. “When you buy a book on photography, you really don’t know what you’re getting. It will cover one subject when you should be reading about that subject much later on, so you’re kind of skipping around.”

5K fun run/walk in honor of Brett Smith will be held in Solon on April 5

Keeping his memory alive

SOLON– Although Brett Smith passed away nearly two years ago, his memory is still strong in the hearts of his friends, family, and community.
Sarah Drea and Brady Smith, first cousins of Brett, are organizing an untimed running and walking event in honor of their family member.
“It’s just a way for us to remember him and share in his memory,” said Drea. “It’s something that’s not sad. We just thought it would be a good way to keep his memory out there, get together, and celebrate his life.”
