But there was little discussion at the 10-minute meeting.

Beckman defeats Solon, 3-1

Libero McCarty goes down with torn ACL

SOLON– The fates have been unkind to the Solon varsity volleyball team this year.
They struck again when junior libero Grace McCarty went down with a torn ACL early in the first game of a match against Dyersville Beckman on Sept. 22, at home.

Beckman defeated Solon 3-1 (25-11, 22-25, 25-18, 25-14), dropping the Lady Spartans to 5-9 on the season.

Can midseason pack migrate toward top?

ANAMOSA– Each fall, the migration points south. If that’s where the finish line is, that’s where Solon runners will be headed, through the second half of their 2015 season. The goal is to arrive there sooner.
Solon’s girls are working with a lot of new faces on varsity and the first few junior varsity (JV) finishers. The boys show experience on the varsity level, with a lot of younger legs on JV to challenge the leaders.
