Tiffin changes lawn watering program

Want to water? Buy the meter

By Lori Lindner
North Liberty Leader
TIFFIN– It’s hard to think of green grass with snow on the ground, but the City of Tiffin is asking residents to prepare for a significant change coming this spring.
Previously, those who regularly watered outdoors were able to take advantage of temporary seasonal meters– defunct, manually-read meters made available when the city updated to radio-read meters. After city employees installed them each spring, residents were asked to read the lawn meters themselves and contact city hall monthly to report outdoor usage.

By Jen Moore
North Liberty Leader

NORTH LIBERTY- In Denise Barnhouse’s words, at some point, “a gym becomes a ‘gym.’”
The warm, welcoming smiles and greetings that often accompany a gym’s opening start to fade, and it morphs into that stereotypical notion of a bunch of nameless, faceless people who come in –or don’t come in- do their workouts, and leave when they’re done.
Denise and her husband, Ian, wanted to change that.
