Former mayor to continue role as city administrator

Solon Economist

SOLON– The City of Solon didn’t have to look very far for a new city administrator.
Former mayor Cami Rasmussen has entered into an employment agreement with the city to serve as city administrator for a term of one year.
According to acting mayor Steve Stange, the move assures continuity for city operations and stability for the city budget. At the end of the one-year agreement, the position will be advertised and a long term candidate will be sought, Stange said.
For now, however, the move buys the city some time.

Give us a kiss

Lakeview Elementary Principal Jodi Rickels smooched a pig at an assembly Friday, May 2, after losing a bet with Lakeview students who went “hog wild” about reading. Students were challenged to complete a variety of reading activities, log their participation and turn their documentation to force Rickels to kiss a pig. After an announcement that Mrs. Rickels had hidden some reading reports in her office, the final tally favored the student body, and Rickels was obliged to pucker up. (photo by Doug Lindner)
