Betty Irene Starr, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died at her home Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009 after a short illness. Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 21 at Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Betty is survived by a son, Don (Cindy) Starr of Solon; two daughters, Diane (Bob) Hathaway and Karen Stearns, both of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her mother, Leota Hunter of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Wilma VanOsdal of Burlington.
Her father, Frank Hunter, preceded her in death.
Betty was born Jan. 30, 1932 in Winfield, the daughter of Frank and Leota Long Hunter. She worked for 28 years at Quaker Oats.
Betty loved camping, fishing, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
