Carl Jackson (Jack) Johnson, 83, passed away from Parkinson’s on Aug. 17, 2012, at Edgewater Retirement Community in West Des Moines. Funeral services were held on Aug. 25 at Clinking-beard Funeral Home in Ava, Mo., with burial in Ava Cemetery.
Jack was born in Hammond, Mo. on June 6, 1929, to Fred and Mae (Wallace) Johnson. He grew up in Ozark County, Mo., and graduated from Gainesville High School. Jack married Norma Lee Piland on July 24, 1948. Norma preceded him in death in 2010 after 62 years of marriage.
Local survivors include his sister, Lana Allen of Ely.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to aid in the fight against Parkinson’s disease.
