CCA boys fall to Mt. Vernon, girls suffer pair of losses

MOUNT VERNON– The Clear Creek Amana (CCA) boys lost on the road Tuesday night (Jan. 28) at Mount Vernon, 64-54. Cal Miller led the Clipper effort with 11 points.

On Friday, Jan. 31, the Williamsburg Raiders came to Tiffin and left with a 65-47 victory.
The boys are at home Monday, Feb. 10, to take on Mid-Prairie in a varsity only girls/boys doubleheader before finishing the season on the road at Vinton-Shellsburg Tuesday, Feb. 11, and Center Point-Urbana on Friday, Feb. 14.
Rough week for girls
It was another tough week for the Clipper girls with a home loss Tuesday (Jan. 28) to Mount Vernon, 67-54, and a road loss Friday (Jan. 31) at Williamsburg 54-43.
The girls are at Solon on Thursday, Feb. 6, in a make-up game with the Lady Spartans from an earlier weather postponement. Senior Night is set for Tuesday, Feb. 11, as Vinton-Shellsburg comes to town to wrap up the regular season.
The Clipper girls are in Class 4A Region 4 and begin the postseason at Davenport North on Wednesday, Feb. 19. A win would advance CCA to Davenport Assumption on Saturday, Feb. 22, with the winner heading to Washington on Tuesday, Feb. 25, for the regional final.
