Clipper cross country JV boys and varsity girls blow past competition

IOWA CITY– The Clear Creek Amana (CCA) cross country teams gathered at the University of Iowa’s Ashton Cross Country Course with a few hundred of their closest friends and rivals for the Clippers’ home meet last Monday evening.
Middle School, junior varsity (JV) and varsity teams ran the course under mostly clear skies and seasonal temperatures.
The JV boys and varsity girls finished first in team points, with 22 points for the boys and 50 for the girls (tying with Vinton-Shellsburg). The JV girls were second overall behind HL-V and the varsity boys were third behind Vinton-Shellsburg and Mid-Prairie.
Madelaine Hinsley won the varsity girls meet with a time of 15:20.79, Quysni Springer was second in the girls’ JV race in 18:59.43, Jake Tener was second in the JV boys’ race in 19:29.19 and Wyatt Sedlececk was second in the Junior High boys’ race with a time of 12:41.01.
