Creek Boys tie for first in Washington

WASHINGTON– Clear Creek Amana (CCA)’s boys track and field team tied with Fairfield for first place in team points at the Demon Relays hosted last Thursday (April 10) by Washington High School. CCA and Fairfield had 118 points to lead the six-team field.
Tanner Bandy had an exceptional day with three wins: 400-meter dash (51.25 seconds), 110-meter hurdles (15.73) and the 200-meter dash (23.22). Jared Ganschow set the meet record for the 400-dash last year at 49.56 seconds, and for the 200-dash in 2011 at 21.75. Bandy also placed second in the high jump while Eric Douglass was second in the 1,600-meter run and Cooper Secrest-Seelman was second in the 400-meter hurdles.
Thursday, April 17, finds the Creek Boys in Van Horne for the Benton Bobcat Relays with a 4:45 p.m. start time. On Tuesday, April 22, the team visits Solon for the Spartans’ invitational meet with a 4:30 p.m. start.
