Croco resigns seat on CCA board
OXFORD — A bombshell was dropped July 15 at the regular monthly meeting of the Clear Creek Amana School (CCA) Board. Board member Matthew Croco stunned the board when he announced at the end of the meeting that this would be his last.
Croco, whose director District 4 seat was up for re-election this fall, told the board his family was moving outside the CCA district in the near future. District 4 includes North Liberty and Coralville.
“Thank you for a good two years,” he said to his fellow board members.
Along with Croco, Dan Schaapveld will also be resigning when his term expires this year. Schaapveld, the board president, holds an at-large position. Board member Kathy Zimmerman, director District 2, will be seeking re-election on Sept. 8. District 2 includes the communities of Tiffin, Cosgrove, and Windham.
Nomination papers, a map of the director districts, and other information can be obtained by contacting the CCA business office at (319) 828-4510. The first day for returning nomination papers was July 6, and the deadline is Thursday, July 30 at 5 p.m. in the district’s business office.
