Dog microchipping clinic May 12
CORALVILLE– A microchip clinic will be sponsored by MidWestOne Bank and Friends of the Animal Center Foundation on Saturday, May 12, (rain or shine) from 9 a.m. until noon at MidWestOne Bank, 110 First Ave. in Coralville. Cost is $5 per dog (cash or checks only). The event is first-come, first-served and open to the public (no early birds please).
Microchipping takes just minutes. The microchip is approximately the size of a grain of rice and is inserted into the animal with a hypodermic needle, just like any other injection. Should the animal ever become lost, police stations, veterinarians and animal shelters can scan the animal to obtain information stored in the chip and link them to the owner through a national database. Microchips save lives. Get your animal a secure identification that can’t be lost.
• All dogs must be on a leash.
• All dog owners must bring current rabies certificate for each dog.
• All dog owners must sign a waiver before micro chipping can take place.
• Leave cats at home. Purchase a $5 voucher at the event to have your cat chipped at a later date
