Esther Louise (Wolfe) Larimer, 84, of Sun City, Ariz., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca (Ted) Grenis of Ely and Sherrie (Kevin) Northway of Springville; son, Rollin Larimer of Urbana; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Betty Rutherford of Marion; brother-in-law, Tony Nuttall of New Mexico; three nephews and two nieces.
Esther was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Hampton. She loved swimming and was in the hall of fame for synchronized swimming. She spent most of her life teaching swimming to young children and managing swimming pools both in Iowa and Arizona. She loved hiking in the mountains and collecting beautiful rocks and was president of her rock hound club.
After visiting Arizona for many years, she met Tony Seminora and moved there permanently. Tony and Esther spent 33 years together and he was by her side when she passed away.
