Five Clippers honored in Class 4A All-State Softball

DES MOINES– The Iowa Girls Coaches Association released their 2012 All-State Softball teams on Monday, July 30. Clear Creek Amana (CCA) was represented by five Clippers spread throughout the three teams. Caitlin Wnek and Fran Strub earned first team honors, Maliah Fligg and Mallory Madsen were named to the second team, and Tara Walls was placed on the third team listing.
The Clippers made their fourth consecutive state tournament appearance (33rd overall) and came home with a third place showing after a 6-2 win Friday, July 20, over Washington in the third place game after a 3-0 loss to Indianola in the state semifinal round.
