Invasive species eradication day Sept. 6

Join Iowa’s five land trusts to celebrate land protection in Iowa. Come for the volunteer day; stay for live music and lunch.
The Nature Conservancy, Bur Oak Land Trust (formerly known as Johnson County Heritage Trust), Whiterock Conservancy, Four Mounds Foundation and INHF will host a volunteer day to eradicate invasive species and take back the land with complementary lunch and live music to follow.
Turkey Creek Preserve (near Iowa City) at 2525 Sugar Bottom Rd. Solon, on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. until noon.
This event is open to all ages. Participants are asked to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets, water bottles, loppers/handsaws (optional) and work gloves. Please wear long sleeves, jeans and closed-toe shoes. Coffee, snacks and lunch will be provided.
