Jeffrey Paul Dickinson, 56, of Brighton, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, from injuries after a farm accident.
He was born April 14, 1957, in Fairfield to Ralph “Dubs” and Kathryn (Chuck) Dickinson. Jeff lived his entire life in Brighton and graduated from Washington High School in 1975. He married Paula Shaffer on Jan. 8, 1977; they were later divorced. He married Sue Murphey on Nov. 15, 1997; they were later divorced. Jeff was a member of Sts. Joseph & Cabrini Church in East Pleasant Plain.
He is survived by two daughters, Kelly Dempsey of North Liberty and Kayla (Jeremy) Heath of Iowa City; four grandchildren; parents, Dubs and Kathryn Dickinson of Brighton; two sisters, Laura (Rich) Kohnert of Urbandale and Kaye (Anthony) Stewart of Washington; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Raquel Thomas of Des Moines.
Funeral Mass was Oct. 7 at Sts. Joseph and Cabrini Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Robert Striegel officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, East Pleasant Plain.
Memorials for St. Joseph Cemetery or for a memorial to be decided later may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 1440 Highway 1 and 78, Brighton.
