Jerry L. Morlan, 71, of North Liberty, died Monday at the Mercy Hospice Unit at Mercy Iowa City.
Jerry’s wishes were to be cremated. Private family services will be held. Condolences and well wishes may be sent directly to the family. Instead of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Mercy Hospice Unit at Mercy Iowa City or Iowa City Hospice.
Jerry was born Jan. 30, 1942, in Morrison, Ill., the son of Lawrence and Myrtle Morlan. He graduated from Moulten-Udell Community High School and on Sept. 3, 1971, married Sandra Anderson in Port Byron, Ill. Living in Riverside, and moving to the North Liberty area in 1980, Jerry worked as a finisher for Centro Plastics in North Liberty, retiring in 2009.
He was a member of the Rod Benders Bass Club of Iowa City.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sandy; his children, Donald (Lara) Morlan of Coralville, Charlie Morlan of Edgerton, Minn., Stefanie (Tony) Dillon of Grinnell, and Tina (Joe) Schrader of Shulenburg, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Seth and Spencer Morlan, Katie, Kelsie and Allie Morlan, Terry, Jaime Dillon Murphy and Jacob Dillon, Amber Nowotny and Dustin and Natosha Schrader; five great-grandchildren, Lilly, Osiris, Damien and Aiden Nowotny and Traecen Murphy.
His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
