A big thank you from Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Solon Public Library would like to thank everyone who made the 21st annual Solon garage sale day such a success. The weather was great and shoppers found lots of treasures on June 1 and 2 at the 66 registered sales. If you held a sale, but did not register this year, please consider registering your next sale. City-wide sale day is always the first Saturday in June. All of the money collected in registration fees is used on advertising and any left over goes to the library, so it’s a great benefit to the community for just a few dollars. Area businesses also profit from the increased traffic in town. If you have comments or suggestions about the registration process that you felt hindered you from registering your sale, please let us know. Email comments or suggestions to SolonLibrFriends@aol.com. Thanks also to all who donated items for the friends garage sale– over $135 was made from those items for the benefit of the library.
Additionally, all leftover items from the Memorial Day weekend book sale have now been responsibly recycled and we are accepting donations for our next used book sale, which will be Feb. 2, 2013.
