Kathy Lea McNamara, 57, of rural Swisher, died at her home Saturday, April 12, 2014. Friends visited with the family on April 18 at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West in Cedar Rapids.
Kathy is survived by her six children, Shawn McNamara, Cedar Rapids; Kasey McNamara, Swisher; Kazzy McNamara, Cedar Rapids; Sidney McNamara and Stasney McNamara, both of Swisher; and Sawyer McNamara, Cedar Rapids; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandson; her mother, Maxine Coufal, Swisher; sister, Pam Lukehart and husband LeRoy and brother, Dan Coufal, both of Warsaw, Mo.; former husband, Steve McNamara, Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Coufal.
Kathy was born on Sept. 16, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Frank and Maxine (Renfro) Coufal and was a lifelong Swisher area resident. She sold advertising, but her greatest and most rewarding work was being a full-time mother which she loved above all else. Kathy enjoyed playing pool, flower gardening and collecting all sorts of items.
