Margie Ann Knoedel, 63, of Bloomington, died peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2014. Margie was born July 24, 1950, to Joseph and Marguerite Knoedel of Iowa City. Margie attended City High and went on to earn her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Iowa. Most of her library career was spent at the Hennepin County Library System. She held many positions and retired as principal librarian. Margie will be remembered for her kindness, her infectious laughter, her thoughtfulness, and the joy and love she brought to others.
She was preceded in death by brother, Donald of Edina, Minnesota, and her parents, Joseph and Marguerite Knoedel. Margie is survived by her husband, Jack Sjoquist, Bloomington; brothers Jim and wife Denise of Chicago, Illinois, Bill and wife Susy of Urbandale, and Andy of North Liberty; sisters, Susan and partner Cesca Piuma of Madison, Wisconsin, and Mary and husband Brian Sullivan of Edina, Minnesota; nephews Matthew and Michael (Bill and Susy), and Brett and Daniel (Brian and Mary); and many cousins and friends who will deeply feel her loss.
