Marlene (Worrall) Deatsch, 69, of Louisburg, Kan., and formerly of North English and North Liberty, died on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Vintage Park in Louisburg, Kan. A Celebration of Life service was held Jan. 10 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English. Burial was in the North English Cemetery.

Marlene Jean Deatsch was born on May 14, 1943, near Deep River, a daughter of Leighton Arthur and Eva Ruth Grimm Worrall. She grew up in North English and graduated from English Valley High School in 1961. Marlene married James Deatsch in 1963. They were later divorced. She lived in the Iowa City area before moving to Kansas four years ago.
Local survivors include her children James (Cathy) Deatsch and Paula (Shane Feeney) Shull, both of North Liberty.
