Mary Schloss

Mary “Pat” Schloss, 79, died of lung cancer Wednesday, June 27, 2012, surrounded by her family at her home in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass was held July 3 at St. Patrick’s Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Ivan Nienhaus. Her body was cremated and was inurned at Linwood Cemetery Cedar Rapids.
Local survivors include a son, Bradley (Suzanne) Schloss of North Liberty.
Pat was born Oct. 4, 1932, in Cedar Rapids. Her parents were residing in Mount Vernon at the time and that is Pat’s hometown. On Oct. 9, 1954, she married Roger J. Schloss at St. John’s Catholic Church in Lisbon. Pat and her family lived in Riverside, from 1958 until 1998.
Pat was a mom and homemaker of five children and went to work for Owens Brush when her last child went to kindergarten. She worked there for 25 years and then enjoyed her retirement.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy or St. Patrick’s Church in Cedar Rapids.
