Mildred L. Curry, age 96, of Palm Harbor, Fla., formerly of Holbrook, Iowa and Iowa City, died in Palm Harbor on Feb. 9, 2010. She and her husband, Kenneth, farmed near Holbrook for many years and then moved to Iowa City, where she worked in the Cardiac Cath Lab at University Hospitals until their retirement to Fairfield Bay, Ark. They later moved to Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents Meade and Grace Sigmund, brother William Sigmund, and sister Maurine Magnus.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Keith L. Curry (Saundra), Palm Harbor, Fla., and a daughter, Leola Curry Meraz, Iowa City. Grandchildren include Dan Curry, Eden Prairie, Minn., Cindy Wade (Dean), North Liberty, Kevin Curry, Tonawanda, N.Y., Matthew Meraz (Paula Miller), Iowa City, and Mary Kay Brooks, Coralville. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Travis Hadley, Terra Lou Hadley, Kayla Brooks, Fred Meraz, and Giullietta Meraz, all of the Iowa City area, and many nieces and nephews in the Des Moines area.
A memorial service and inurnment will be at a later date in Iowa City.
