Paul Leroy Main, 95, of Coggon, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Manor Care, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services were held Jan. 4 at Silver Creek United Methodist Church in rural Ryan. Burial was in Coggon Cemetery, Coggon, with military honors.
Local survivors include his daughter, Paula Main of North Liberty.
Paul was born June 24, 1917, in Coggon, the son of Thomas and Ella Mae (Eckert) Main. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II as a medic. Paul married Elsie Evers on Oct. 4, 1943, in Cedar Rapids. Elsie died Jan. 31, 2005. Following his military service, Paul started farming and continued until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of Silver Creek United Methodist Church.
