Penn school will host Science Night Feb. 26

NORTH LIBERTY– Penn Elementary will be hosting a fun-filled evening of exciting science Friday, Feb. 26, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
There will be a variety of demonstrations, interactive activities and experiments to engage your inner scientist. These fabulous science stations are made possible by partnerships with a variety of local science professionals and educators including: Alliant Energy, Alpha Chi Sigma– Alpha Theta Chapter, Integrated DNA Technologies, Iowa Department of Natural Resources– IOWATER, Iowa City West High School Robotics Projects, Iowa State Extension–4-H Outreach, Iowa State University’s Insect Zoo, McComas-Lacina Construction, The S.T.E.A.M. Room Fab Lab, University of Iowa Biology Department, University of Iowa Health Care STEM Education, University of Iowa Latham Scientific Engagement Initiative, University of Iowa Physics Department, University of Iowa Science Education and University of Iowa Sound Awareness for Everyone– UI-SAFE.
Activities include: the magic of liquid nitrogen; an interactive insect zoo; exploring light and sound waves; robotic fun; virtual reality roller coaster; tower building and paper rocket competitions; using microscopes, laparoscopic surgery simulator; exploring DNA coding; and a virtual reality design of liberty high school.
