Solon Public Library
With the Summer Reading Program winding down the display window “Alchemy, Science, and Magic: Potions Classroom at Hogwarts” has reached the end of its time and Toni is working hard on her next project. The new window will be called “Whistle-stop: love song to the railroad” and will be dedicated to Joe Turkal. This window will be a celebration of the history and literature of the American railroad. To make this the best display possible, Toni is currently looking for several items to add to the collection of unique and historically relevant objects she has already collected.
She is looking for any railroad related items you might have, especially ones that are specific to Solon; Solon railroad photos; a railroad calendar; an old Sears catalog; a pocket watch with chain; an old visor;
a small black metal fan; or an old doctor’s bag or satchel.
If you have any of the above items and wish to have them displayed, please contact the library 319-624-2678 or Toni 319-644-2777.
