Stone Academy to host open house events

SOLON– The Stone Academy, a country school located on Highway 1 just north of Solon, will host open house events as follows:
• Memorial Day weekend: May 27 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.;
• Fourth of July from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.;
• Beef Days weekend: July 21 from noon until 2 p.m.
The country school was built in 1842 and served Solon students for 111 years before closing in 1953. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and remains the property of the Solon Community School District.
