Wanda Louise (Leigh) Shaffer, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services were held Feb. 20 at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Pastor Del Bear. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Local Survivors include her grandchild Brandon (Chelsea) Hess of Ely.
Wanda was born April 17, 1921, on the family farm south of Lisbon, daughter of Earl and Mary (Graver) Leigh. She attended a country school, then helped on her family farm. On June 10, 1950, she married Floyd “Bud” Shaffer in Princeton, Mo. The couple lived and raised their children in Lisbon. In 1960, they moved to Cedar Rapids and started a street ice cream vending business, the Jolly Wagon.
