Bernice “Jean” Fank, 74, of Winthrop, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, in the University Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a short illness. Services were held Tuesday, Feb. 24, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Winthrop, with the Rev. Don Plamondon officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was Feb. 23, at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Winthrop.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin of Winthrop; two daughters, Mary (Louie) Kacere Jr. of Cedar Rapids, and Dianne (Rob Slocum) Fank of Charleston, S.C.; three sons, John (Dixie) Fank of Walker, Ron (Polly) Fank of Independence, and Gary (Michele) Fank of Winthrop; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Ann (Roger) Durfey of Cedar Rapids, Inez (Ralph) Kremer of Aurora, and Judy Quint of Dewar; and a brother, John (Louie) Walderbach of Ely.
