Loretta Marlene Davisson, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died at Mercy Medical Center on Monday, April 20, 2009, after an extended illness. Services were held Friday, April 24 at St. Patrick Catholic Church by Rev. Phil Thompson. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday and Friday at Teahen Funeral Home.
Loretta is survived by her husband, Richard; six daughters, Bonnie Marks, Cathy (Larry) Sellers, both of Cedar Rapids, Nancy Brown of Solon, Natalie (Larry) Joens, Lori (Michael) Oldorf and Carrie (Robert) Rice, all of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren, Gina, Erik, Jason, Renee, Kelli, Clinton, Terra, Justin, Brittany, Brooke, Hunter, Jarred, Cortney, Emily, Nathan and Austin; two great-grandchildren, Kayden and Anaysia; three sisters, Phyllis Williams of Coquille, Ore., Evelyn (Frank) Jacobs of Sigourney and Marian (Bernard) Magness of Grass Valley, Calif.
Loretta is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Roselyn Fisher and brother, Stanley Peiffer.
Loretta was born April 22, 1936, the daughter of Lawrence and Nellie Hall Peiffer in Sigourney. She married Richard Davisson on Jan. 12, 1957, at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Loretta enjoyed painting, doing crafts, sewing and traveling. She loved flowers and birds, spending time with her family and friends and having fun.
