NORTH LIBERTY– Everyone knows the importance of buckling up and strapping in the kids. However, many parents don’t know how to properly install or safely use a child safety seat.
For this reason, the SAFE KIDS Johnson County Coalition will be offering child safety seat checks on Thursday, June 18, 5 to 8 p.m., at Penn Elementary, 230 N. Dubuque Street, North Liberty. The drive-though checkpoint will give parents the chance to see whether they are using their child safety seats appropriately and to ensure their children’s seats are in good condition and have not been recalled. This event will inform people on how to properly fit car seats for their cars and children, as well as promote everyday use of car seats.
The public is welcome to this free event; however, appointments are appreciated. To schedule an appointment or for more information on this event, call Mercy On Call at (319) 358-2767 or toll free at 1-800-358-2767
