Violet A. Miller, 97, of Davenport and formerly of Centerville and Ely passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Davenport.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 16, 2009, at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf by the Rev. Christian H. Meyer. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park in Davenport.
For many years, Violet owned and operated a beauty shop in Ely before moving to Davenport several years ago. She spent many enjoyable hours sewing, quilting, and crocheting and treasured times spent with her beloved family.
Those left to honor her memory include her three daughters, Marilyn Manganello of Ely, Natalie (Ron) Proffitt of Bettendorf, and Gail Bales of Davenport; eleven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene; a son, Richard; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters and one brother.
