NORTH LIBERTY– South Slope and Swisher Telephone are excited to announce its support for the netINS 2010 College Scholarship Program. The aim of the annual program is to help further higher education opportunities among high school students. South Slope and Swisher Telephone strongly supports the youth of our communities and are eager to support yet another valuable program.
As in the past, the program will award up to five $1,000 cash scholarships to youth across the state of Iowa. Applicants must be a resident of Iowa or attend and graduate from an Iowa high school. They must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or one of its official territories. Applicants must graduate or have graduated from high school between Jan. 1, 2010, and July 1, 2010. They must live in the trade area of South Slope Cooperative or Swisher Telephone and they must be accepted for admission and enrolled in an Iowa college or university.
Submissions will be accepted between March 10 and April 9. The deadline for submissions is April 9. Winners will be notified in writing the week of May 3. Scholarship recipients will be selected by an independent panel of impartial Telco staff, Iowa Network Services staff, and Iowa educators. Applicants must write a 300-word essay on “The Internet Generation: Discuss the role of the Internet in your future life and career.”
