The week of celebrating the library’s 10th anniversary is over and all the afterglow, kudos and winners will be listed next week. The party is over but the melody lingers on with a couple of attractions.
Toni’s display window, titled “Black Tie Affair– A display to celebrate 10 years in our new library building” will be lingering with us through Sept. 30 for all to enjoy and reminisce and express our gratitude for such a lovely building in small town America. Picture yourself, as Toni did, at a party hosted by F. Scott Fitzgerald in a wonderful garden with statuary, ferns and calla lilies. White doves and bejeweled butterflies fill the air while guests imbibe of “the bubbly,” sumptuous desserts and delicate finger foods.
Another attraction that will be lingering is the library tour. If you missed the tour schedule or are reconsidering that you really haven’t seen it all at the library, the tours will be provided by Friends of the Library upon request to groups or individuals. The newly written script for touring the library will take you through the building from front door to basement exit. The tour takes about 30 minutes to wind through the building with explanations and facts on various points of interest.
