Cindy L. Abraham, 60, of Oxford, passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Oct. 28 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Pastor Harlan Gillespie officiating.
Survivors include her husband Craig; children Matt Abraham of Hawaii, Ben (Melissa) Abraham of Florida, Joe Abraham of Iowa City and Sarah (Kevin) Smith of North Liberty; four grandchildren, Ashley, Tori, Romy and Hillary; her parents, Charles and Hazel Enfield of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Kathy Glowacki of Iowa City. Cindy was preceded in death by many beloved pets.
Cynthia Louise Enfield was born April 30, 1951, in Davenport, the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Doerr) Enfield. She married Craig Abraham on June 27, 1970, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. Cindy served as president and CEO for the family owned business of Subway Restaurants in the Iowa City area, opening their first Subway in 1989. She enjoyed gardening baking, traveling, reading, work and her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren.
