Motorcycle, vehicle collision results in fatality of Tiffin man

TIFFIN– A collision between a motorcycle and an SUV left a 20-year-old Tiffin man dead last Wednesday, June 20.
According to a crash report by the Iowa State Patrol, at around 7:15 p.m., Ryan Kelly Johnson, of Tiffin, was traveling eastbound on Highway 6 through Tiffin on a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle with a passenger, 21-year-old Hannah Nicole Tedell of Dixon. A 2005 Honda SUV, driven by 23-year-old Elizabeth Sue Colony of Iowa City, was westbound on Highway 6 and turned in front of Johnson’s motorcycle to go south on Main Street. Johnson’s motorcycle struck the passenger side of Colony’s vehicle. Johnson did not survive the crash.
The report indicates that Johnson and Tedell were transported by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals. Colony was not listed as having injuries. Neither Johnson nor Tedell were wearing helmets, according to the report.
The accident remains under investigation.
