David G. Clark, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died after a brief battle with cancer at the Hospice House of Mercy, Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012. Services were held Aug. 4 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by Pastor Richard Ernst and Pastor Kirk Statler of Hillside Wesleyan Church. Interment was in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
Local survivors include his son Jeff (Tracy) Clark of Ely.
Dave was born Nov. 20, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, to Harry and Martha Clark. He married Karla Parcell in West Chester on May 11, 1963. Dave enlisted in 1962 and served over 39 years in the United States Army Reserves, retiring as a Warrant Officer 4. The same year he enlisted, he began his career with the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, retiring as a lieutenant in 1988. After his retirement, he worked for Hawkeye Fire and Safety in Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
