SOLON– The Solon Retirement Village announced the opening of its dedicated skilled/acute care building on July 24, the newest addition to the retirement campus. An open house for the general public was held Wednesday, July 18.
The skilled/acute care area will accommodate 13 individuals with needs for short-term skilled in an addition constructed on the southeast side of the Solon Nursing Care Center. The campus received approval from the state to add these skilled beds last November, in addition to gaining approval to build a new CCDI Memory Care which opened in May of this year.
“The Solon Nursing Care Center has been certified to provide skilled care for many years. However, we are routinely unable to accommodate many skilled referrals each week, due to our high occupancy. We will continue to provide skilled services to our long-term residents as needed, but now we will be able to also better accommodate those with short-term needs,” commented Melissa Reed, administrator.
The skilled/acute care building will offer nine private and two semi-private rooms, each with private bathroom and in-room showers, flat screen TV’s with cable included, Wi-Fi for patients and guests, large windows, and an open atrium area with dining room and lounge. The lower level of the building is a dedicated therapy center featuring private treatment rooms, exercise and therapy areas, mock kitchen and bathrooms for occupational therapy needs and more.
