SOLON– Our Lord’s Church, 131 N. Market St., will have its eighth Annual Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. A soup luncheon will start at 10:30 a.m., serving homemade chili, chicken noodle, and ham and bean soups, along with hot dogs and chilidogs. The bake sale includes Kolaches, pies, cakes, cookies, bars, some candy, fresh farm eggs, bread from the Sykora Bakery and other member specialties. The festival will again be selling Dutch Letters, a pastry from Pella and (new this year) fresh cheese curds from the Kalona Cheese Factory. Both of these items are available by advance orders (see the form in the NoJoCo or Solon Economist). Many craft and gift items will also be available. Again this year will be a pie baking contest. Participants should drop pies off between 3 and 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. If the time doesn’t fit your schedule, call Anna at 319-331-5111 to make other arrangements.
Come with a friend anytime and enjoy one of our many sweets along with a free beverage. It’s a great place to meet friends for lunch, too.
