IOWA CITY– Johnson County 4-H celebrates National 4-H Week with 4-H Science Night on Tuesday, Oct. 9. The event will be held from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Montgomery Hall, 4-H Fairgrounds, Iowa City.
Current and prospective 4-H members (fourth grade and older) will explore science in the 4-H program through project demonstrations and hands on activities. The 4-H science demonstration schedule is:
6:15 p.m. Robotics by members of the 4-H robotics club.
6:30 p.m. Dog obedience and agility by Lisa and Rachel Haugland, 4-H dog project coordinators.
6:45 p.m. Rocketry and a model rocket launch by 4-H members, Megan and Joey Schnoebelen and family.
Youth and parents interested in learning more about the 4-H program and how to join are encouraged to attend. Current 4-H members are encouraged to participate and learn more about 4-H science projects.
4-H is the youth development program of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and is part of the Governor’s STEM Initiative throughout Iowa.
