Dr. John Francis Krob, DVM, 83, of Tipton, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 4, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tipton, with Father Ed Dunn and Father David Hitch officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

John Francis Krob, was born Sept. 23, 1929, in Johnson County. He was the son of Milo Joseph and Mayme Elizabeth Murphy Krob. He served his country in the United States Air Force and received his doctorate of veterinary medicine from Iowa State University. On Aug. 21, 1951, John was united in marriage to Carolyn Jean Rourke in Oxford. He practiced veterinary medicine at the Tipton Veterinary Clinic for 38 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Tipton Lion’s Club.
Local survivors include his sister, Marilyn (Morrie) Pitlick of Oxford.
A memorial fund has been established.
