Pamela R. (Heck) Jones, 51, of Iowa City, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral services were held Oct. 3 at the Parkview Evangelical Free Church in Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Pam’s memory to Leukemia and Lymphoma Research Institute.
Pamela Rae Heck was born Oct. 30, 1961, in Iowa City, the daughter of Dale and Helenjean (Rowe) Heck. She attended Iowa City schools graduating from West High School in 1980. She attended the University of Iowa (X-ray and radiation therapy programs) and she received a BA degree in Health Care Management from Ottawa University in Kansas City. She married Dr. Martin “Marty” Jones on Aug. 23, 1986. For over 20 years she was employed with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC), Department of Radiation Therapy and for the past 10 years with Mercy Medical Center’s Hal-Perrine Cancer Center in Cedar Rapids.
Her family includes her husband, Marty; their son, Chris and his dear friend, Renee Yoder; Pam’s parents, Dale and Helenjean Heck; sister, Deb Heck; brother, Dave and his wife, Suzy Heck; nephews, Cutler and Braxton Simpson and DJ and Gage Heck all of Iowa City; brother-in-law, E.K. III and his wife Carol Jones of Osceola; sister-in-law, Carrie Jones of Iowa City; brother-in-law, Eliot and his wife, Julie Jones of Swisher; brother-in-law, Gerald Jones of Iowa City; and aunts and uncles, Bob and Elsie Rowe of Davenport, LaVona Richman of North English, Norma McKelvey of Bettendorf and Doris Aldinger of Eagle Grove.
