Richard F. “Dick” Goldsberry, 72, of West Amana, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. Services were held Jan. 21 at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, conducted by chaplain Mike Slagenweit-Coffman. Burial followed the luncheon at Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include wife, Linda Goldsberry of West Amana; mother, Betty Goldsberry of Cedar Rapids; children, Jill (Tony) Tabaka of Minneapolis, Minn., Kori (Gary) Philipp and Amy Goldsberry both of Ely, and Jesse (Andrea) Hankemeier of Walker; siblings, Jim (Connie) Goldsberry of Solon, Don Goldsberry of Hampton and Pam Jacob of Camarillo, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Goldsberry.
Dick was born on Oct. 23, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, son of Donald and Betty Goldsberry. He graduated from Washington High School in 1959. Dick served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Aleutian Islands and Japan. He married Kathy Procok in 1963; they later divorced. Dick worked as a supervisor at Cryovac, P&H, Goss, as a Johnson County deputy sheriff and drove for Philipp Trucking.
On Aug. 22, 1992, Dick married Linda Hankemeier in Blairstown. For the last 18 years the couple owned and operated Goldsberry Trucking. Dick was a member of the Swisher American Legion for over 40 years.
