Charles Edward “Ed” Sedivec, 82, of Iowa City, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 18, 2014. Funeral Services were held May 23 at Lensing Funeral Home, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
Ed was born in Iowa City on Feb. 2, 1932, the son of Charles and Lulu (Stafford) Sedivec. He married Tina Nichols on Jan. 6, 1989. For many years, Ed was a mechanic and owned and operated Ed’s Auto and Truck Repair in Coralville.
He is survived by his wife Tina of Iowa City, ten children: Deb (Randy) Noel of Iowa City, Larry (Wanda) Sedivec of Oxford, Vickie Sedivec of North Liberty, Richard O’Leary of North Liberty, Joseph (Christy) O’Leary of Iowa City, Timothy O’Leary of Fargo, N.D., Frederick (Janice) O’Leary of Iowa City, Karina (Ray) Forman of Tiffin, Diana (Steve) Palmer of Iowa City, and Kelly Sedivec of North English; 23 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Roy and his wife Alice, and a granddaughter Mellissa “Missy” (Noel) Miner.
